TY - JOUR AB - Among some pelagic polychaetes collected by the R/V ''Ombango'' in the Gulf of Guinea (1960-1964) were specimens which could not be referred to any known species. One of these, Yndolacia lopadorrhynchoides Støp-Bowitz, 1987 (Yndolaciidae Støp-Bowitz, 1987), which represented a new genus and family, has been described elsewhere. Five others, two of which also represent new genera, are described herein; Drieschiopsis guineana n. gen., n. sp. and Herdmanella aequatorialis n. sp. (Polynoidae); Pseudalciopa modesta n. gen., n. sp., Rhynchonereella longicirrata n. sp. and Vanadis brevirostris n. sp. (Alciopidae). Rare forms include specimens of Watelio gravieri (Benham, 1929) (Alciopidae), Tomopteris rolasi Greeff, 1882 (Tomopteridae) and Travisiopsis lumbricoides Reibisch, 1895 (Typhloscolecidae), previously known from only one or a few older records.
