Etymology "The species is named to honour Tupã (meaning thunder in Tupi-Guarani language), a dog and fellow of the first author that has been a great companion throughout all these phyllodocid years" (Oliveira et al., 2021: 48). [details]
Habitat Sandy bottoms and muddy shoals, from the tidal zone to shelf depths (0–65 m). [details]
Type locality Mel Island, Paraná, southern Brazil, southwestern Atlantic Ocean (-25.5506°, -48.2967°). [details]
