Editor's comment The type material was not preserved, but Strelzov (1973) studied a specimen collected in 1924 at the area of Novaya Zemlya and determined by I.G. Zachs as Aricidea uschakowi Zachs, 1925. The specimen was identified by Strelzov (1973) as Aricidea (Allia) nolani Webster & Benedict, 1887, and the two species were synonymized. Strelzov (1973) also considered A. suecica Eliason, 1920 as a junior synonym of A. nolani, with base on the comparison of the specimens studied by Strelzov (including specimens from Eliason's collection) and the description of A. nolani. With A. nolani being considered as indeterminable by Pettibone in Hartley (1981), A. suecica became a valid species, including this way A. uschakowi as a junior synonym. [details]
