From editor or global species database
Editor's comment This record (AphiaID 329967) was for Notaulax "mixta" Perkins, 1984 as entered by K Fauchald. However, there is no such taxon, by any author, not anywhere, and there is no 'mixta' sabellid species name. It is most likely a databasing error. As the Perkins (1984) new recombination of Notaulax midoculi (Hoagland, 1919) was missing from WoRMS, possibly this name, associated with Perkins (1984), was the intended entry. The entry has been corrected to be N. midoculi. Alternatively the name "mixta" was a provisional & never published manuscript or museum label name [G. Read, May, 2019] [details]
Specimen The record for "mixta" indicated the specimen was at Smithsonian Institution, Washington (USNM). No such name occurs in the collection database. Notaulax midoculi is recorded as at (holotype) AMNH1186. [details]
