Etymology The specific epithet brevicirra is composed by the Latin prefix brevi-, meaning 'short', and cirra, a form of the Latin word cirrus and used in the sense of 'appendage', and refers to the short length of the dorsal cirri of the species, having alternately only 2 or 3 articles. [details]
