Taxonomic remark The examination of the holotype of Pararicia belizensis Solis-Weiss & Fauchald, 1989 (USNM 120930), by Blake (1996: 4, footnote), revealed that most of the thoracic neurochaetae, although long and thin, had blunt tips. Those of the first 1-3 chaetigers were actually short enough to be considered as uncini. The genus should then be considered a synonym of Protoariciella Hartmann-Schröder, 1962. However, due to the fact the specimen was clearly a juvenile and likely a developmental stage of a Naineris species, possibly N. setosa (Verrill, 1900) described in the same paper and also present at Twin Cays (Belize), the type locality of P. belizensis, Pararicia should probably be referred to synonymy with Naineris Blainville, 1828.  [details]
