Depth range Eulittoral, in a hole in the sand 0.60 m deep. [details]
Distribution Indian Ocean, ozambique, Xai Xai. Known only from the type locality. [details]
Etymology The specific epithet atentaculocirrata is composed by the Latin prefix a-, meaning 'without', and the composed word tentaculocirrata, meaning 'tentacular cirri', and refers to the absence of tentacular cirri on the species. [details]
Habitat Coarse and medium sand in eulittoral beach slopes. [details]
Status Guillermo San Martín (in San Martín et al., 2008) revised the type material of Reductotyposyllis Hartmann-Schröder, 1974, and determined that the holotype (ZMH P-14768) was a regenerating posterior end of a species of Syllis. [details]
Type locality Indian Ocean, Mozambique, Xai Xai, beach slope just in front of the hotel (geocoordinates not provided, estimated with gazetteer to be approximately lat. -25.1178º, long. 33.7323º). [details]
