Etymology The specific epithet regulata seems to be a composite word derived from the Latin noun regula (rule, bar) and the suffix -atus (having a feature or organ), and probably makes reference to the shape of the body of the species, which is slender and thread-like, or to the long proventriculus, which extends for about 10 segments.
