Etymology The specific epithet annamita refers to Annam, the central region of the colonial French-governed Vietnam, comprising the Nha Trang Bay. [details]
Habitat Fine and coarse sand, sometimes with coral and/or shell debris, muddy sand, or mud, at shallow depths (9-26 m). [details]
Type locality South China Sea, Vietnam, Nha Trang Bay, east side of Hòn Mun, Sta. 146II (geocoordinates not provided, estimated with map annexed to publication and Google Earth to be approximately lat. 12.170º, long. 109.291º), 26 m, muddy sand. [details]
