Grammatical gender As Tharyx is masculine, the original spelling as Tharyx longisetosa is incorrect, and should have been Tharyx longisetosus, or would be if returned to the genus, but the original combination is superseded. [details]
Homonymy senior secondary homonym to Tharyx longisetosus (Hutchings & Murray, 1984) in the correct spelling of Tharyx longisetosus Hartmann-Schröder, 1965, if this spelling has ever been used (Hartmann-Schröder, 1965 used 'longisetosa'). As Hartmann-Schröder's species has been moved to Aphelochaeta the secondary homonymy is resolved. [details]From other sources
