Depth range Not stated, unknown. Probably intertidal to shallow water.  [details]

Distribution NW Pacific Ocean: Sumida River, Tokyo (Japan); Taiwan. [details]

Etymology Not stated. The subspecific epithet tetradentata (masculine: tetradentatus) is a New latin adjective meaning 'having four teeth', and presumably refers to the presence of four paragnaths on area I of the proboscis.  [details]

Habitat Not stated, unknown. Probably in intertidal mud or sand, in marine and brackish waters.  [details]

Synonymy Imajima placed the Taiwan record of Perinereis linea by Wu (1967) into his new subspecies, but still apparently regarded P. linea as distinct. Arias et al (2013:121) state that Perinereis vancaurica tetradentata is very similar to P. linea based on literature descriptions but that synonymy needs to be confirmed by an examination of type material. As Yuasa & Takagi (2001) placed a worm used in genome work as P. vancaurica tetradentata the question of its identity may become more important. [details]

Type locality Sumida River, Tokyo, Japan, possibly fresh or brackish water?  [details]
