Etymology The subspecific epithet lateropapillata, formed by the Latin words latero, meaning 'side' or 'flank', and papillata, inflection of papillatus and meaning 'having nipples or buds', refers to the presence of long spindle shaped papillae in the dorsolateral region of the body, posterior to the proventricle, and especially at the limit of the chaetigers.
