From editor or global species database
Type designation Benham (1927) did not designate a holotype. The syntypes are specimens from Waiheke, Lyttelton, New Brighton, and Moeraki (N of Dunedin), plus the specimen collected by the Terra Nova. This specimen, NHMUK 1928.2.29.53, is recorded as the holotype in the British Museum online catalogue, and thus was represented as such by Avery et al (2023) but it can only be a syntype. The other syntypes may be in the Otago Museum, Dunedin, New Zealand, but it is not yet known if they can be matched to those included in Benham's description.  [details]
