Etymology Not stated, uncertain. The specific epithet truncata is a Latin adjective, feminine of truncatus and meaning 'maimed' or 'mutilated', and seems to refer to the fact that the result of the fusion of the first two segments is shorter than what is usual in the genus Paranaitis. [details]
