Editor's comment Treadwell compares his specimen with Serpula sombreriana McIntosh, 1885 , while explicitly referring to a thoracic uncinus of the Protis-type; and referring his material to the latter genus notwithstanding the lack of special collar chaetae. The material should be restudied, but probably belongs to Protis simplex Ehlers, 1887. [details]
