Etymology The specific epithet confusa is the feminine of the Latin adjective confusus, meaning 'confused', 'vague', 'indefinite' or 'obscure', and refers to the fact that "nearly all the observed specimens apparently have a retracted prostomium so there were no clear morphological signs from which to determine the anterior and posterior ends" (Thiel et al., 2011: 925).
