[details]Etymology The name carmelitensis is derived from the gentilitious "Carmelita", name given to the people living in the area of Términos Lagoon. [details] Habitat In mud and fine sands, depth 2.6 to 4 m, temperature 25.7ºC to 28.09ºC, salinity 31.74 to 35.85 psu, pH 7.8 to 9.1. [details] Museum Batch number PO-02-041, deposited at the Instituto de Ciencias del Mar y Limnología, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (ICML-UNAM) includes specimens collected at different stations located at or near the type locality (Términos Lagoon, Campeche State, Mexico).
