Etymology The species is named in honor of the author's wife, Dr. Alison S. Carson, ''for her help in collection of these specimens (sometimes under quite adverse conditions). Her cultural psychology studies in the Philippines (supported by the National Science Foundation and a Fullbright Scholarship) allowed for travel to make these collections'' (Williams, 2007: 14).
