Taxonomy Disused subfamily. Created by Rioja to include Serpulidae with pinnules on the operculum stalk. He included genera Filograna, Salmacina, Apomatus, and Protula (Salmacina and Protula lack opercula). Fauchald (1977) included Filograna and Salmacina, and also Filogranula, Salmacinopsis and Spirodiscus. Molecular data of Kupriyanova et al (2006) grouped Salmacina and Filograna, but in wider view no justification for a distinct Filograninae clade existed [details]
