Nomenclature The name kovdaicum is derived from the type locality Kowda. The suffix -icum is uncertain to indicate whether the name is an adjective. The original genus Stylostichon is of neuter gender, and the suffix of the species name agrees with that gender. Nevertheless, because -icum is not clearly adjectival, we refrain from adapting it to the gender of the accepted genus Phorbas (which is masculine). [details]
