Type material Although Sarà (2002) gives details about specimens in the Zoological Museum of Strasbourg, a recent overview of the collections (Dr Marie Meister in litteris) comments that the specimens were 'pas retrouvé'. According to Sarà, there are also 'teased' fragments in the Natural History Museum in London (BMNH 1870.5.3.98 & 1929.2.10.38) labeled Tethya cometes O. Schm/ Golf v.Mexico Agassiz'which may be part of the type series.
