From editor or global species database
Type locality Topsent (1888) reported the occurrence of his new species in a Tridacna gigas shell (associated with the same shell as Hancock's species Cliona quadrata). Tridacna shells only occur in the Indo-West Pacific, but no further data can be provided. The species is also reported from the Mediterranean by a.o. Rützler (1973), which may need further confirmation. [details]
