Taxonomic remark According to Ferguson & Hayes (1941), the species cannot belong to Mesostoma because of the relative position of the vitellaria to the testes. Noreña & Faubel (1992) do not discuss this issue, but keep the species within Mesostoma, a view followed here for the time being.  [details]
