Nomenclature The genera was pre-published together with other new genera and species in a 4-page report on the expedition of the ships "Travailleur" and "Talisman" in a French science vulgarization magazine (La Nature: Revue des sciences et de leurs applications aux arts et à l'industrie). Actually the complete report is in several parts published in 1884. Subsequent authors have preferred citing the full scientific report published in 1888, but the genus was validly published in 1884 despite the lack of description, as there is one species included with an illustration.
