Among the heterogeneous group of sigalionid species originally assigned to Leanira Kinberg, 4 species are separated and referred to new genera: Labioleanira and Labiosthenolepis, both genera each with two new combinations, and there is also one junior synonym in Labiosthenolepis. These new genera are characterized by labial lobes on the lateral lips of the ventral mouth.
