A new harmothoin polychaete Bathyhololepidella papillata g.n., sp. n. was found at depths 1080-1400 m near Kurile Islands. The new taxon is characterized by having more than 70 segments; more than 30 pairs of elytra on segments nn 2, 4, 5, 7, alternate segments to 23, 26, 29, 32, every second or every third segment (may be asymmetrical). Notopodia with digitiform acicular lobes, numerous stalked papillae present on the presetal lobes. Notosetae thick, nearly smooth. Neurosetae unidentate and serrated along both edges.
