Diagnosis A family of Tropiometracea with conspicuous side and covering plates; P1 and P2 similar, more slender and flexible than following pinnules and composed of a large number of short segments; cirri short, stout, and strongly curved, of usually fewer than 25 cirrals; distal cirrals little, if at all, shorter than proximal cirrals; aboral processes absent or present as low keels or tubercles; transition segment lacking. [details]
