Es wurden insgesamt 247 Polychaetenarten gefunden. Von diesen 247 waren 202 bereits bekannt, 18 konnten nicht genau bestimmt werden, und eine Gattung, 20 Arten und sieben Unterarten wurden neu beschrieben.
Von den 202 der Wissenschaft schon bekannten Arten waren 91 Neufunde für ein oder mehrere der folgenden Gebiete oder für ganz Afrika: Angola 38, Südwestafrika 23, Kap-Provinz und Natal 21, Moçambique 34 und gesamtes Afrika sechs Neufunde. Die sechs Arten, die erstmals an afrikanischen Küsten gefunden wurden, sind Brania pusilla, Brania furcelligera, Sphaerosyllis centroamericana, Stauronereis japonicus, Ctenodrilus serratus und ? Armandia ilhabelae.
