Five species of Raninidae have been collected during the "Marion Dufresne" cruise MD 32 around La Réunion Island (August-September 1982). Four of them had never been reported from La Réunion or Mauritius. One species, Ranilia misakiensis, thought to be endemic from Japan, has been found at La Réunion and Seychelles Islands. Three species have been listed from Madagascar and among them a new one, Raninoides crosnieri, is described.
