Taxonomy This is based on Halichondria corrugata sensu Topsent, 1890, 1892, not sensu Bowerbank, 1866, which according to Burton (1930: 518) is a Mycale with very rare anisochelae. A few pages further in the same article, Burton (1930: 527) erected a new species of Tylodesma (=Desmacella) topsenti for Topsent's material. [details]
