Grammatical gender Feminine. Feminine as Eunoë, the correct spelling of 'Eunoa' is feminine, after the mythological Greek nymph, Eunoë. McIntosh has nothing to say about the etymology.
Subsequently Salazar-Vallejo & Suárez-Morales (2025: 2 of 8) claim Polyeunoa, which they used as the second part of their Jimipolyeunoa, was masculine as McIntosh had used 'laevis' as the species group name. This is a misunderstanding of Latin. As an -is ending adjective the commonly used form 'laevis' is correct for both masculine and feminine genera and does not indicate Polyeunoa is masculine. Polyeunoa is feminine as it derives from the female nymph Eunoë. [details] Type species Type species Polyeunoa laevis McIntosh 1885 [details]
