Gibbula cineraria (Linnaeus, 1758)(southern morphotype)

Description The southern populations of this species, in Portugal and Morocco, are quite different from those present on the coasts of NW Europe, usually with a high-conical shape and more red component in the colour pattern. They can be distinguished readily from Jujubinus spp. by the presence of an umbilicus.
