Status De Fromentel (1861, p. 59) created the taxon "Famille.----Calamophylliens." Later, Boelsche (1866, p. 447) Latinized de Fromentel's family. Because, in contrast to Calamophylliidae Vaughan and Wells, 1943, de Fromentel's taxon has not been in prevailing usage by authors interested in this group, it represents an invalid taxon according to ICZN article [11.7.2] and does, therefore, not replace the family by Vaughan and Wells (1943).
