Abstract
A new species of Antipatharia, Antipathes fiordensis, is described from the fiords of south-western New Zealand, where it is common, occurring from 4–100 m depth. It is also newly reported from Stewart Island. This species has been previously confused with and redescribed as A. aperta Totton but differs in details of polyps and skeletal spination
