Etymology Not stated. The specific epithet aberrans is Latin and means 'wandering', 'straying' or 'deviating'. It refers probably to the disposition of the uncini standing back to back in the double rows, a condition considered by Fauvel (1949) as being very rare: "les uncini [...] sur deux rangs plus ou moins écartés, opposés dos à dos. Cette dernière disposition est très rare chez les Térébelliens" (Fauvel, 1949: 433). [details]
Habitat Under stones and among tubes of vermetids. [details]
Type locality Dakar, Senegal, Atlantic Ocean. The species was collected in "Dakar, Pointe Bernard, N'Gor" (Fauvel, 1949: 433). Pointe Bernard (14.654°, -17.431°) and N'Gor (14.756°, -17.514°) are on opposite coasts of Dakar. [details]
