Two new species of hydromedusae are described: Cytaeis adherens and Solmaris quadrata. The genus Octocannoides is included in a new Leptomedusae family, the Octocannoidae. The different species forming the genus Malagazzia are specified. The cnidome of some Leptomedusae is analysed; Staurocladia acuminata and S. alternata are reported for the first time in P.N.G., and the systematic position of the Stomotoca atra of P.N.G. is defined.
