A new species of Shoemakerella from the Gulf of California, Mexico, is herein described. It was caught from a puerulus spiny lobster collector, anchored at Punta Coyote, Gulf of California. The new species differs from all others by having a fissure on distal part of basis on pereopods 3-7. An identification key for all known species in the genus is also provided. The new species is the first record of the genus from the Western Coast of Mexico.
