Dr. E. Dartevelle very kindly submitted to me for examination a few Polychaeta collected by him at Cape Malemba near the mouth of the River Congo (Mission Cassel, 1933). Two species are represented: a Nereid Perinereis bairdii (Webster) and a Eunicid, a Marphysa which I am unable to attribute to any of the known species. I have much pleasure in naming it Marphysa dartevellei after its collector.
