This paper deals with the descriptions of a number of polychaete species which were earlier recorded by me as being new to the fauna of Ceylon (de Silva, 1965). These polychaetes were collected from the following localities : Pottuvil and Kalkuda (Eastern Province), Galle face, Mt. Lavinia, Angulana, Wadduwa, Uswettikeyyawa, Negombo Lagoon (Western Province); Kalpitiya, Puttalam Lagoon, Mullikulam (North-Western Province) and from the Jaffna Lagoon (Northern Province).
