Status The status of Eunereis Malmgren, 1865 is uncertain. However, currently it is in use and has not been synonymized. It was erected for Nereis longissima Johnston, 1840, known from a single epitoke specimen at the time, although perhaps there is a link to Myriana longissima Savigny, 1822 (q.v.). Both Johnston (1865) and Malmgren also included Heteronereis paradoxa Örsted, 1843 under Nereis longissima, although this is of little help in clarifying the attributes of N longissima. [details]
