New combination Knight-Jones (1994: 197) in text commentary transferred P. longa (Kinberg) to Pseudobranchiomma from Sabellastarte (originally description was in Sabella). She does not directly indicate what specimens she had examined, although it is clear from her context that she had a specimen and was not working from literature. It is not until Knight-Jones & Giangrande (2003: 99) that it is apparent she had examined type material, although there is still no detail about the specimen provenance & current whereabouts, and no re-description as such. She figures a radiole in Figure 1G for Pseudobranchiomma longa which shows minute eyespots corresponding with 'vestigial flanges' (more like indentations). [details]
