Remark Type species: Gomophia egyptiaca Gray 1840 by monotypy (Rowe & Gates, 1995).
In family Linckiidae in Clark (1954).
The concept of the genus is expanded in Rowe & Gates (1995) to include species formerly included in Nardoa-Nardoa mamillifera Livingstone, 1930, Nardoa rosea H.L. Clark, 1921 and Nardoa sphenisci A.M. Clark, 1967- but in which superomarginal plates alternate in two sizes along the ray; taxonomy under review by Rowe, F.W.E. and Marsh, L.M. [details]
