Publication date The new species name Glycera edwardsi was published for the first time by Gravier in 1902, associated with an illustration (Gravier, 1902: plate 10 figs. 160-162). Only later was the new name accompanied by a full description of the species as new, in two occasions, first in Gravier (1904: 473-474), and later in Gravier (1906: 139-141, text-figs. 293-298, to which the 1902 plate refers), with this second work not referring the 1904 publication. According to the ICZN Article 12 for names published before 1931, and very specially the section 12.2.7, a new name can be considered available if it is proposed in association with an illustration of the taxon being named. This way, the publication date of the species should be considered as "Gravier, 1902". [details]
