16 samples were collected by Andrew Gooday during several cruises of R.R.S. ''Discovery'' and R.R.S. ''Challenger'' during the years 1974 to 1981, containing polychaetes. They were collected in the Eastern Atlantic between Porcupine Sea Bight off southwest of Ireland and off the coast of Guinea Bissau. The depths of the samples range from 997 to 4341 m. Four species of polychaetes were found inhabiting foraminifera tests; two of them were new species: Mystides bathysiphonicola n. sp. and Fauveliopsis olgae n. sp. The connections between the foraminiferans and the polychaetes are still unknown. A paper by Gooday entitled ''The occurrence of metazoans within foraminifera tests'' is in preparation.
