Die vorliegenden Untersuchungen wurden grösstenteils im zoologischen Institut der Universität zu Upsala ausgearbeitet. Die Anregung zu denselben wurde mir freundlichst von meinem hochverehrten Lehrer Professor A. Wirén gegeben. Um mir ein gut fixiertes Material zu verschaffen und die Tiere im Leben beobachten zu können habe ich mich in den Sommermonaten der Jahre 1912, 1914 und 1915 in der zoologischen Station Kristineberg an der schwedischen Westküste aufgehalten. Ausserdem habe ich das Gothenburger Museum und das Schwedische Reichsmuseum zu Stockholm besucht um die dortigen Sammlungen der terebellomorphen Polychaeten zu studieren.
