Diagnosis Test attached by a prominent basal disc, chambers closely coiled and trochospiral in the early stage, later more loosely coiled and high spired, growing upright around a solid central column, chambers somewhat produced, septa simple, imperforate, sutures oblique, depressed; wall calcareous with organic inner lining, thick, optically radial, outer walls coarsely perforate but area just above the aperture imperforate, surface smooth; aperture a low and narrow interiomarginal and umbilical slit and may be bordered by a distinct lip.
