Editor's comment Unresolved. The name "Euclymene gracilis" has not been authenticated. It comes from ecological usages (not taxonomic) in an Arctic species list spreadsheet from Falk Huettmann, and also in a Mediterranean benthos study by Giangrande & Gambi (1985). It seems unlikely that a species is both Arctic and Mediterranean. Attempts in November 2020 to contact the persons who created the two usages of "Euclymene gracilis" failed.
There is more than one possible original combination in Maldanidae it could be related to:
Johnstonia gracilis Kinberg is a synonym of Euclymene oerstedii
Clymene gracilis Sars, 1861 is accepted as Praxillella gracilis (M. Sars, 1861)
Clymenura gracilis Hartman, 1969 is a taxon inquirendum
Possibly "Euclymene gracilis" is related to a “E. (Praxillella) gracilis” (Sars, 1861) usage from Verrill, 1900: 655 "Annelida of the Bermudas" , but that is not the same as a usage as Euclymene gracilis. Verrill wrote: "E. {Praxillella) gracilis occurs off the northern coast of New England." [details]
