Nomenclature The original type spelling of this species in Gray 1847 is Pentagonaster dübeni which has since been regularly translated into English as either Pentagonaster duebeni or Pentagonaster dubeni. Of the two, the former is correct (according to ICZN 32.5.2.1) but the latter is tolerated. "duebeni" is seen in the A.M. Clark's list versus "dubeni" in Rowe & Gates "Echinodermata of Australia" [details]
