Nomenclature Psammocollus Grube, 1866 was clearly senior to Myriochele. With the assumption they were synonyms Nilsen & Holthe (1989) applied for its suppression, granted in ICZN Opinion 1636. See Myriochele. However, the situation may need revisiting as Parapar (2003) 'resurrected' type species Psammocollus australis Grube, 1866 into Galathowenia Kirkegaard 1959. Thus there was no need to invalidate Psammocollus to protect Myriochele. Such complications are likely to occur whenever the ICZN is asked to protect one name which is only a subjective junior synonym by suppressing for priority another 'artificially' [details]
