Editor's comment Gmelin refers to Rumphius, who worked on Ambon, so the type locality probably has been Indonesia. Serpula ocrea (misspelled as ochrea) was quoted as possible synonym of the gastropod Vermetus atra by Tryon (1886: 244), which taxon has been synonymised with Serpulorbis (Cladopoda) colubrinus by Keen (1961: 195) [details]Type locality Indonesia [details]
